Filmography

Over the past four years, I’ve created six short films. Before diving into each film individually, I’d like to start by expressing my gratitude to everyone who worked on any of these projects. I’m incredibly thankful to have collaborated with such talented filmmakers, and if you ever need help on any future productions, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’d love to work with you!

What’s Kept in the Dark

FUN FACT!

We shot the majority of this film in my friend’s basement. Thank you, Cameron and Liam!

LOGLINE:

While stranded in the middle of rural America, a couple finds a dark secret that their host doesn’t want them to see.

DIRECTORS NOTE:

In the summer of 2022, my friend Andrew Spencer and I discovered the 48-Hour Film Competition. As the name suggests, you have just 48 hours to write, film, and edit a short film based on the prompts provided. It was my first real experience as a director, working under such tight deadlines. Despite the pressure, we pushed through and ended up winning the inaugural Montana 48 Challenge!

FUN FACT!

On the first night, I almost cracked my head open while writing the script!

Into the BLU

FUN FACT!

We shot the majority in the SigEp basement. This was my basement era, I guess.

LOGLINE:

In a world where memory is more valuable than gold, a grieving husband reconnects with his late wife through the Blu.

DIRECTORS NOTE:

When we were assigned Silent Film as our genre for our second Montana 48-Hour Film Project, I initially thought we were doomed. Telling a compelling story without dialogue, especially while other teams were allowed to speak, seemed impossible. However, my cast and crew proved me wrong. Julien Harris showed that words weren’t necessary to convey the grief our character had experienced. The editing and cinematography really highlighted his raw emotions, making Into the Blu a project I’ll always be proud of. We ended up winning Best in Montana and had the incredible opportunity to attend Filmapalooza for the second time in Lisbon, Portugal.

FUN FACT!

If you look closely at the machine, you can see my flyrod case sticking out of the top. I thought no one would notice but my Dad certainly did!

Non-Disclosure

FUN FACT!

The film the security guards were watching is called Two Beers, a film I gaffed in the tunnels my Sophomore year!

LOGLINE:

A desperate man who’s just looking to do something right winds up getting hired by a secret, underground, government facility who would rather have him die than quitting.

DIRECTORS NOTE:

For my senior thesis film, I wanted to create something that would push me in every technical aspect of filmmaking. Wensdae’s script gave me the perfect opportunity to do just that. It was an amazing experience building all the spaces and working on the technical rigging alongside my brother Aidan and our director of photography, Ian Nye. None of this would have been possible without the support of Troy Dunning, our producer, and Laith Benhammou, our production designer. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity and the experience!

FUN FACT!

We wanted to make the monster to grow taller than Chet, so the monster is actually the school’s ABC Jib!

Left Me Cold

FUN FACT!

We were very limited with our gear, so, instead of using a jib, my brother Aidan hopped into the bucket of Riley’s Skid steer!

LOGLINE:

A stay-at-home wife reaches her breaking point while enduring the painful quiet of rural Montana living

DIRECTORS NOTE:

Growing up in the small town of Dubois, winters have always taken a toll on my mental well-being. The isolation can feel deafening and grim. For some, the only voice you hear is the wind. There have been many accounts of people losing their grip on sanity after being alone for too long. This story attempts to capture the harsh reality of loneliness in rural Montana. Created for the Yes We Canne Film Challenge in 2023, this film is currently completing its festival run.

FUN FACT!

During the fire scene, Our 1st AC almost blew himself up right in front of the property owner, which so happens to be his Mom!

The Ballad of the Dead and Dying

LOGLINE:

A sickly survivor scours the apocalyptic landscape in search for the one she cared about in her past life.

Film Coming Soon

Film Coming Soon 〰️

DIRECTORS NOTE:

We made this film for the Geekapalooza Short Film Contest in May 2024. With this project, I aimed to recreate the magic of silent storytelling that we explored in Into the Blu. The twist, however, is that this film is an apocalyptic musical—a rather peculiar genre. We ended up winning the competition, and we’re currently revising the film for a broader festival run.

FUN FACT!

We shot this film in an abandoned town called St. Marie, Montana, which is roughly 6 hours away from Bozeman!

Pickleball:

The Inspiring Story of a Father, a Son, and Two Vaguely Gay Men

FUN FACT!

We almost got kicked out of the Pickleball court by other pretentious pickleball players. Ironic.

LOGLINE:

A father and a son attempt to bond over the deceivingly fun game of pickleball when the thrill of beating their opponent takes hold.

DIRECTORS NOTE:

For our fourth 48-Hour Film Production, I decided to try my hand at comedy. The slapstick nature of the film was a fun challenge for both me and my crew. It also gave me the opportunity to address my thoughts on competition and how it sometimes overshadows the true reason people play sports. Pickle Ball won Best Writing and Best Use of Prop at the Montana 48 Film Contest and took 2nd place overall.

FUN FACT!

We shaved one of our actors to make the wig for the end scene. We didn’t but, could you imagine?

American Ronin

FUN FACT!

Since I don’t live in Seattle, I had to crash on the director’s couch in order to be apart of this project. Thanks, Sean!

LOGLINE:

A retiring assassin is on the run as his violent past is hunting him down.

PRODUCERS NOTE:

I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with some talented Seattle-based filmmakers on a few projects in the summer of 2024. For this particular film, I was thrilled to serve as co-producer and Assistant Director on my very first action film. The experience was a complete rush, and it was incredible to see these filmmakers in action! I’m looking forward to working with them again soon. While this is NOT the official cut of American Ronin, this version features a score created by my friend, Liam Queneau!

FUN FACT!

The majority of the cast graduated from the Seattle Stunt School before filming!
